Description
Mediterranean shrub of 4-10 m with reddish trocus, scaly bark, and gray branches. The leaves are peremnes, lanceolate, serrate, bright green. The inflorescences are presented in hanging panicles. The fruit is edible, yellow, orange, and red when ripe. It can have a thickened base that sprouts well, allowing it to form as shohin.
