Description

It is distributed in the Alps, the Vosges and the Pyrenees, rarely exceeding 20 m in height, with a generally conical or pyramidal crown and very dense and dark foliage. Straight trunk, branched almost from the base, with dark gray or gray-brown bark. Acicular leaves, dark green color, 3 to 8 cm long by 1.5 to 2 mm thick, with a rough edge, in a very dense arrangement on the branches and grouped in pairs; they stay from 2 to 5 years and are somewhat rigid but not sharp. The most common style is the informal vertical (Moyogi), although it adapts to many others.
