Description
Deciduous tree, with straight, slender trunk, and dense cup. Smooth and greyish bark, although in older specimens it darkens and cracks. Young reddish twigs, with bulging yellowish lenticels. Reddish brown pedunculate buds. The most common style is the formal upright (Chokkan) and the curved informal upright (Moyogi)
